An AMSOIL Dealer is many things.  We are all independent dealers throughout the nation.  We do not work for AMSOIL, but through their franchise network, we sell their products.  An AMSOIL dealer provides much more than quality products; they gather information that is helpful to the consumer to obtain cost-saving products for their vehicles.  AMSOIL provides all of the technical knowledge you could ever want or need.  AMSOIL provides this knowledge to all of their dealers in several ways.  Here are just a few:

Product Brochures, there are a ton of them.
AMSOIL's corporate website, an excellent resource (http://www.AMSOIL.COM)
AMSOIL U. 
Yearly regional sales and technology meetings.
Anniversary Conventions including week long technology meetings.  Core Technology training.
Local dealer meetings.
Tapes, Business Starter Kits, Webinars.

All of the above are excellent resources, and the best part, you don't have to attend or do any of them, you do what you want, when you want.  Certainly I would encourage you to attend as many events and training sessions as possible, but none of them are mandatory.  You get out what you put into this business, so it's entirely up to you.  Every meeting that I have personally attended I benefited from doing so.

Personal use of the product is by far my own personal method of being able to sell AMSOIL products.  I am no salesman, never have been, never will be.  Yet, I sell AMSOIL.  Why?

It's a great quality product.
It's a product that is cost saving to the end-user in many ways.
It increases performance.
It increases MPG.
It allows your engine to run cooler.
It decreases wear and tear on your engines.
In cold weather climates, like here in Wisconsin, it allows for easy cold-temperature starting.
I could go on, but I think you get the point.  Great products sell themselves.  Word of mouth is by far the best advertisement that is out there.  While AMSOIL does sponsor some (COOR Racing, etc) regional and national events, did you ever wonder why they don't have a national ad campaign?  They don't have to!

I originally became an AMSOIL dealer in 1982.  I was not successful at that time.  I never even gave it a chance, I was too young and had too much else going on in my life at the time.  Finishing college, getting married, buying my first home, having babies, finding jobs.  Many time-consuming events for me during those years.  I do wish however that I had tried a little harder and kept up my AMSOIL business, it makes me wonder where I would be today if I had.

Back a few years ago, I noticed that my son was buying AMSOIL products.  He has a ton of "toys" and was buying products for all of them.  I asked him a simple question - "Why don't you become an AMSOIL dealer?"  We discussed the matter and about an hour later I already had our business name (M&M Synthetics, LLC - M&M - Mark and Matt), and our Federal ID number and were on our way.  My goal was to set up the business for my son and let him roll with it.  That's still my goal, while he does sell more product than I do, being young, working a ton of hours, looking for that first house, (many things that I was doing back in '82), he is not ready to deal with the business end of owning a business.  Enough about me.


Why should you become an AMSOIL dealer, and why should you consider me as your sponsor?

Reasons to become an AMSOIL Dealer:

There are many good reasons to become an AMSOIL dealer, and few bad ones.  The bad such as - Become rich overnight, make millions of dollars with working two days a week and to quit your day job and move to Florida.  You will never see and "infomercials" or "paid advertisements" on your TV at 3am in the morning spouting any of these claims regarding AMSOIL.

The right reasons--- not in any particular order are:

1.  Most common reason that I have seen for an individual to become an AMSOIL dealer is that they use the products themselves and do not wish to pay retail for it.  AMSOIL dealers purchase the products at cost and can save a substantial amount over retail.  Friends, family and co-workers then become interested in the products as well.  In most cases, these folks can become your first customers!

2.  Individuals who want to start their own Home Based Business.  Selling AMSOIL products is a business and not a hobby (An important distinction that needs to be clear for IRS regulations).  Over a number of other Home Based Businesses, AMSOIL is one of the easiest and least time consuming businesses to start!

3.  Individuals, or couples looking to supplement their income.  Many people, especially in our current economy, are looking to supplement their income while continuing to work their "day jobs".  If you are willing to put time into your business, it will pay off.

4.  People who have some spare time and want something more than a "hobby" find AMSOIL dealerships rewarding in many ways.

5.  What other Home Based Business can you start up for less than $50.00??

6.  One of the great things about America is the freedom to work on your own terms, setting your own goals. 

7.  Of course, all of us want to earn some extra money.  For me, at this time in life it is helping put my kids through school.  Back in '82 I was trying to put myself through school.  Whatever the reason, who couldn't use some extra cash.  There are numerous ways to earn money having an AMSOIL business.  First is that you are buying the product at cost and selling it at retail which profits a gross profit.  Secondly, you earn a commission on everything you sell.  You also can earn money when you sell to "commercial" or "retail off-the-shelf" accounts.  Here is a quick example of how our commission structure works:

How to make money with AMSOIL!!

There are tools available now for an AMSOIL dealer that were not available when I was a dealer back in 1982:

- Website, a huge plus for today's dealers!  AMSOIL can provide you with a pre-built website, or if you like fooling around with computers, you can design your own.  Check out my website at 
http://www.mmsynthetics.com  In a few short hours I was up and running.  Sure it takes some time, but the templates that are available through various hosting companies will cut your time down considerably.  I use GoDaddy and I'm very happy with them.  Their customer support is excellent.  No problems, they have all the tools you will need (and then some).

- Retail and Commercial Accounts!  AMSOIL dealers can sell to Quick Lubes, Automotive stores, any already established commercial retail store that is willing to sell our products.  There are some limitations to this, but if you follow AMSOILS rules and regulations, in can be a very lucrative avenue for your dealership.

- Support system of AMSOIL corporate is second to none!  There are so many ways that the corporate folks help out us dealers I can't go into all of them.  They have an outstanding Technical Support staff for all of your technical questions.

- Local Support of your up-line dealers.  From the guy who sponsors you, to your Direct Jobber, to AMSOIL corporate, everyone is there to help out a new dealer.  When I started I knew next to nothing about oil and synthetic lubricants.  I still today don't know everything, but that's okay.  As I always have said, just ask, and if I don't know the answer, I know the people that do.  Those people are my sponsoring dealer, my Direct Jobber and everyone in between.


Reasons why you might consider me to be your sponsoring dealer:

AMSOIL requires that all new dealers have a "sponsoring" dealer to help them early on in their new business venture.  A sponsoring dealer can help you in many ways such as giving advice on what works and what doesn't work.  They have an incentive in you doing good since they will receive a partial commission on everything that you sell.  Just like you will receive a commission on not only everything you sell, but of those that you sign up as new AMSOIL dealers.  I have been an AMSOIL dealer at two different times in my life, so whether your young or old, I have been there.  I know what it's like to try and run a business when there are so many other things in your life going on.

As previously stated, I am an Accountant by trade.  That fact does not make me a good salesperson, but it does go a long way in helping a person not only start up a business and start working from home, but in making a business a long lasting venture.  I am very experienced in starting up new businesses, what paperwork is involved.  What forms to use in setting up a new business, obtaining the appropriate federal and state tax identification numbers.  All fairly simple tasks, however, if you do something wrong, it can be pretty expensive to fix your errors.  But there is so much more than just the local governments.  What type of a business should you open?  Should you use your social security number?  What about sales tax?  Ever even hear of Use tax?

I have worked in all types of businesses.  I have worked in my own family businesses, family-run businesses, small corporations and medium sized corporations.  They all have one thing in common, what is the best way to make a profit?  How do you reach customers, and you do you keep them?  As I previously stated, I don't know all the answers, but I bet I know the folks that do.  I will do nothing but help you succeed in your own AMSOIL business!
